History
Nestled among the Iowa Great Lakes in the heart of Okoboji is Brooks Golf. Originally constructed as an 18 hole layout by Val Brooks in 1932, the course attracted many famous players such Sam Snead, Walter Hagen, and Babe Didrikson Zaharias for exhibition matches and hosted the Iowa Open. In more recent times, Brooks is a perennial host of the Dakota Tour Okoboji Open Pro-Am and numerous corporate and non-profit fundraising events.
Always known for its beauty and excellent course conditions, Brooks has matured into an excellent parkland layout for Midwest vacationers. In 1999, Brooks expanded to 27 holes allowing for readily available tee times and great pace of play. Brooks Golf blends masterful design with superb playing conditions featuring pristine bent grass fairways. The property is home to a host of wildlife species and abundant habitat conservation areas with Brooks attaining and maintaining certification by Audubon International since 2003. We welcome you to play and enjoy your stay in Okoboji.
